TJX Companies Data Compromise

Ensuring your account security is a top priority at ValleyStone Credit Union. Our staff has been monitoring the investigation of the most recent cardholder compromise involving the TJX Companies, parent company of T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, A.J. Wright, and Bob' s Stores in the United States. Outside the United States this company operates Winners and HomeSense in Canada, and TK Maxx in Europe. The TJX Company was victim to a security breach that could affect millions of credit card and debit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Store Cards, ATM Cards, and Gift Cards) utilized at their stores between May 2006 and January 5, 2007. As we continue to monitor this data compromise at the TJX Companies, VSCU will take the necessary precautions to protect our member's accounts. We encourage you to take personal steps to protect yourself even further by closely monitoring your account online and double-checking monthly statements to ensure they match your records.

Anytime you detect any suspicious activity on your account, always notify ValleyStone Credit Union immediately. It's important for you to know that Visa's Zero Liability Policy will protect you against any unauthorized purchases. Please note it is not the ValleyStone Credit Union's System that was breached, rather the system that handled the retail transactions for the merchants.
